Born in Adrian Minnesota February 11, 1923 to Peter and Frances Metz.  Married to Donna Loosbrock (of Wilmont). Entered the Service October 13, 1942 at the age of 19.  When on his 15th Combat Mission life changed.

SONS OF THE AMERICAN LEGION SQUARON 636 The united efforts of Post 636, the Auxiliary and a group expressing their

 desire to serve the local community drew a strong response to the membership drive.  The result was an inaugural membership of 108

 and chartered on April 10, 2010.

Heritage develops in the accounting, over time, of experiences shared and recounted by those who share a common bond. The key is in

 the recording that which provides a sense of pride and belonging.  Everyone in the community  is touched by the service of someone

 from that community and that is the foundation of the Lismore American Legion Family legacy. 

H E R I T A G E

 AUXILIARY UNIT 636 - The American Legion Auxiliary of Schaap-Galagan Post 636 in Lismore Minnesota was awarded their

  charter July 3, 1950  with a roll call of thirty three members.  The Auxiliary has sustained a constant membership and participation 

  that has been vital to the Post and the community. 

 SCHAAP-GALAGAN POST 636 On February 14, 1949 the Lismore American Legion re-chartered as the American Legion Schaap-Galagan Post 636 with 48 charter members.  This core group of committed members from the local community had established a standard of service that is present to this day.
