SONS OF THE AMERICAN LEGION SQUARON 636 - The united efforts of Post 636, the Auxiliary and a group expressing their
desire to serve the local community drew a strong response to the membership drive. The result was an inaugural membership of 108
and chartered on April 10, 2010.
AUXILIARY UNIT 636 - The American Legion Auxiliary of Schaap-Galagan Post 636 in Lismore Minnesota was awarded their
charter July 3, 1950 with a roll call of thirty three members. The Auxiliary has sustained a constant membership and participation
that has been vital to the Post and the community.
SCHAAP-GALAGAN POST 636 - On February 14, 1949 the Lismore American Legion re-chartered as the American Legion Schaap-Galagan Post 636 with 48 charter members. This core group of committed members from the local community had established a standard of service that is present to this day.
Heritage develops in the accounting, over time, of experiences shared and recounted by those who share a common bond. The key is in
the recording that which provides a sense of pride and belonging. Everyone in the community is touched by the service of someone
from that community and that is the foundation of the Lismore American Legion Family legacy.
