OPERATION ENDURING FREEDM
OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM
These three images hi-light a team of 19 medical personnel from the 43rd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron from Pope Air Force Base, NC. This tactical unit was embedded in the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force and followed the lead force during the invasion of Iraq. The sound clip is of a C-130 Hercules. As soon as the cargo was off-loaded we converted the aircraft for a medical evacuation mission. We had the ability to generate a mission from the field and the first C-130 Aeromedical Evacuation Mission out of Iraq was generated by this team of professionals. Through hardship and hazard there was not a finer group to deploy with than the personnel of the 43rd - as a group, we were a culmination of simply doing our best at what we did best and took humble pride in how we performed our duty - TAC EVAC BRINGS 'EM BACK !!
